Steering Wheel shakes and brakes also

If it shakes just while driving it is most likely the tires out of balance. If it does it while on the brakes then the rotors most liley have to be turned (resurfaced or replaced depending on how much is left on the rotor). As for wheel alignment, they will be aligning the front wheels for camber caster and toe in/out. They day "4 wheel alignment" but that does not apply for us Mustangers. A 4 wheel independent car such as the Corvette gets a 4 wheel alignment. Hope I cleared a few things up for you.

For me at least on my 4runner, the rotors are always the problem. Not sure about shaking at speeds which is most likely a tire or two out of balance. When my truck's rotors are shot, the steering wheel vibrates when I step on the breaks. It gets progressively worse as they get more warped. It really isn't worth getting the rotors turned because you are just taking more material off the rotor which makes an already warped rotor more prone to heating and cooling. Time for a 5 lug upgrade if you ask me.

Hell yea, its definately a great name...Yea just tell them that you need the front end alignment. Alot of places around me price match so what we sometimes do is go the one place and say we can get it for $25 cheaper then what they are charging. They then price match and I get an alignment for dirt cheap. Its been a while since I've done that tho, I don't drive the car much at all. But anyway, even if the brakes are not squeeling or grinding it could still be the rotors due to excessive heat or a few to many long down hill stops. If they can resurface the rotors it will probly save you a few $$ but the oem replacements for these cars are a dime a dozen these days so it may just be easier for you to get two new rotors and a new set of inner and outer wheel bearings with seals. Have a buddy or two over and spend the afternoon swappin them out. If you have any questions if you're gonna take this route just shoot me an email and I'd be happy to help you.
