steering wheel??

From your avatar pic, I'm gonna guess that your Fox is an '87-'93 Mustang. As far as what will physically fit upon the steering shaft, your options include:
1. '83 to '95 Mustang (far as I've seen, the '96+ models use a hex-shaped shaft, and pre-'83 models have a splined shaft)
2. late 80's/early 90's Ford Ranger and Explorer
3. late 80's/early 90's Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis/Town Car
4. late 80's/early 90's Tempo/Topaz
5. late 80's/early 90's Aerostar
The list might possibly also include similar years of Ford Taurus, full-size trucks, and pre-'91 Ford Escorts, but I've never pulled the horn pad off any of those to verify that as a fact.
If your Mustang is a '90 to '93 model, I would stick with the vehicles that came stock with an airbag steering wheel. The older wheels will physically poke onto the steering shaft, but it fits too close to the turn signal stalk (only leaves about 1" between the wheel and turn signal), so it's really damned uncomfortable, plus it leaves a lot of ugly trim behind the wheel showing, and you'll have to get crafty with modifying the clock spring or using a different one in order to keep the horn and/or cruise control functional. If you're rocking an '87-'89 wheel ... well, personally, I'd just leave it well enough alone, as that's a pretty nice-lookin' and comfortable wheel, but if you MUST change it out, you can use pretty much any non-airbag OR airbag wheel, although you'll again run into the issue of having to modify things a little to make your horn/CC functional.
If your car has cruise and it still works, I'd stick with factory wheels, especially if you have a '90-'93 (stick with airbag wheels); otherwise, overall, your best bet is probably to go with an aftermarket wheel with an adapter.

lol, mybad.. its a 87 GT, i currently have a 86 steering wheel which is nice, but i was wondering if a steering wheel from another car besides frd would fit? I work at a car dealer and was driving a vw gti and i kinda like the feel of the wheel :-( but ehhh
To my knowledge, no other automaker had a steering shaft of the same size/shape as the ones Ford made during those years. You might have better luck looking on eBay at some aftermarket wheels (Grant, Momo, APC, etc.) and trying to find a wheel that's similar in design to the VW wheel that you like.

Lol yeah i dunno, i dont really wanna getva aftermarket wheel because ofvthe hub/mounting bracket.. It looks like it pushes the wheel out abit... :-/ i dunno ill see what i can do, i was jus wondering if anyone had a different wheel other then ford... Hmmm
Aftermarket wheels usually don't have the "pushed out" effect with just a standard spacer; they do have an optional spacer for Grant or Momo wheels that you can use to move the wheel outward by 1" or 2", but usually the only time you'd want that is on a '90-'93 car because the airbag wheel is "deeper" (extends farther out from the column) than the non-airbag wheels.
You say you've got one from an '86 on there right now - did you put it on there to replace the stock '87 wheel, or was that just what a prior owner had put on there?
Probably THE best stock non-airbag Fox wheel Ford ever came out with was the 3-spoke non-cruise wheel on the GT's and SVO's in '84 and '85. If you can find one in good condition with a leather-wrap, they're worth quite a bit of coin. There's usually at least a couple listed on eBay on any given day, but they vary in condition and can either be really cheap (like $50) or insanely expensive ($150+). Probably the best factory wheel you could ever hope to find for your car; IMO, the next-best thing would be a non-cruise '87-'89 wheel.
If you just want something different, I still have the stock non-cruise LX wheel from my '84 sitting in the closet, which you're MORE than welcome to have for shipping - looks kinda like a big "A" with a circle around it.

yeah I put one of the three spoke ones on mine and I love it. I think only the SVO ones came in leather?

yea i got the svo looking wheel but not from a svo.
I would buy an svo wheel, thoes look really good... been looking also for a motocraft shift boot too... but I dunno i wanted something like this? :-/

Funny this thread came along because I'm actually doing exactly (or close to exactly) the reverse. The previous owner decided it was a good idea to install a fugly white Grant GT wheel in my car (Black & Grey Interior) and I'm replacing it with a pristine 89 wheel I got off of e-bay for 45$. I like the stock 87-89 non airbag wheel. If I were you, I'd stick with what you have already.

That just looks like a re-wrapped Grant steering wheel like this one (except with an airbag)

I wonder if a wheel out of a Focus would work? They would be nice in a airbag car, they're smaller than a stangs' and they have the fat 10-2 o'clock grips. The SVT version would be even better... if they fit.
