Still have problems!!!!!!

I have a 87 5.0 speed density

while back my car was runnin ok with cheapo ignition module(wells) then the connector harness shorted it out. replaced harness and module(Oreillys crap) and had popping exhaust and bad no matter where I set the timing...

I know replaced it with a MSD distributer and module and 90% went away but still have some popping but its not consistant at any point.
I have no codes Most of the time it runs great then have occasionally popping when driving,and driving hard.

Any Clues?

i just bought a 87 T-top and i had to change the lower intake i forgot to plug the Map sensor vaccum line and it popped while running and then the hose was dry rotted no more popping after that...my.02

Not an expert here but have been thru lots of stuff with my car. Think it would be difficult for anyone to pop a diagnosis right off the bat on this. Elimination process wise, you've got some things outta the ways, keep trying. All can do is offer a suggestion, New sparkplug time maybe? How old are your plugs? Oh and ignition timing, very important too, have been learning about that some lately myself

new plugs 0.050 gap
will take a look at hoses some lines do have some dry rot

More info about the popping please. Is it in the exhaust or coming back into the intake?

I hear it in the exhaust but dont know what the two sounds would sound like.
I lose power at each pop. the car hesistates as I accelerate when it decides to pop
