It should not be much to put the seal in maybe an hour tops at the shop, If I remember correctly the seal was 7.99 , so it should be inexpensive I would hope. Dan

You have to remove the Fan, remove the belt, remove the crank pulley (since I have the Vortech, I have to remove the blower belt too.), remove the balancer (which can take a while by itself), then the seal (easy part I guess) then put all that stuff back on. I cant see 2 guys working together doing it in under 3 hours.

I already got a verbal quote of $100 from a local performance shop.
IM gonna put a post up to see if someone can reply as to the cost of this at a shop.
Thanks

i could not bear to read all of this, but i wanted to toss out two cents. (and apologies if im repeating someone else's sentiments).

are you sure you have adequate crankcase ventillation? if not, the pressure finds places to go - often rear main and front crank seals. guys have replaced one or both and had new leaks on new seals due to the lack of crankcase ventillation. i would hate to see that happen to you.

also, once a ventillation issue is fixed, sometimes leaks slow down or stop altogether.

good luck.

I talked to Fred at Steeda, and he said that it is very common for the 5.0's to leak from the rear main once a blower is put on.
