Wow, I've seen ppl with fully built 2Vs with ported heads, cams, on 14 PSI barely make more hp than mine at 9 PSI. KB 1.7L loses a lot of efficiency on anything over 11 PSI. I imagine it'd work better on a stock 281ci as opposed to a stroked motor.

Yeah I'm wondering on that too...if they made it to that power level it must have been making the power at like 3000RPM and probably blew up right after they finished testing it.

The AF ratio was probably equivalent to a garden hose being fed directly into the cylinders too.

that dyno is way off, more and more tuners are pumping up numbers for people... including KB for advertising. get a dyno jet and find out what the deal is

What KB does is runs BUTTLOADS of timing and higher octane gas than the tune you receive is good for.

YEa i think they sneek a smaller pulley in their to on some of this stuff

and 525 is the most I have seen hold on a stock 2v for more than a month. 600 rwhp is just not believable.

Few people on modular fords have done it. Like I said, it's unlikely to find them, but they are out there. I'm not saying 500whp isn't harsh on the block, but some people out there have done it.

My car has already seen over 530hp 650tq at the wheels last year, when i was sprayin...I jus decided to ditch the nitrous and see what i could do with just boost...new fuel pump will be here next week, i'll be takin it to a dynojet on the 14th so we'll see what that says..

It's not even a ticking time bomb anymore at that point...the fuse has already been lit and is in the pre-detonation stage. Wasn't that a beautiful analogy?

Just wondering if you have any sound clips of your car. I have the same car but and 02 with all the same setup. Just took the car in yesterday to have the stage 2 vt blower cams put in. did you here a noticeable lope and more power. What did it raise your redline to. I cant wait to get it back.

Well if it's stock then the redline wouldn't change, hell with that much power it should probably be lowered.

the VT stage II cams are a midrange cam 2500-5500 i beleive, i shift at 5700....but the top end power compliments teh KB low torque nicely.....No sound clips yet, should have some vid when i go back in two weeks..

Those are impressive numbers indeed. I'm running a 14# pulley on my Stroker motor and not getting those numbers. Due to displacement and flow I'm only filling the block to 10PSI. I'm only putting down a little over 450rwhp on a Mustang dyno. Mind you it depends on your air fuel as well. Mine is a very conservative tune at just 10.3:1 @ WOT. It starts out near 11 at idle but as the RPM increases the A/F drops.

stock internals

Well that puts my mind at ease. I've been looking at going the KB route and was concerned about my stock internals. I'd love to do cams too, but I'm at 118k on the odometer and really don't want to rebuild anytime soon although It's probably inevitable. My old 5.0 went well past 150k without a hiccup however there was no boost in the equation.

Me neither. Chris Kauffman is making 500+ to the wheels with stock internals. That's the highest # I've seen.

Thats who comes to mind when i think of people running a decent amount of power on stock internals...i think he said he was @550rwhp.
