yup they work, I run some 14 inchers on the back, bart circle track rims, and wouldn't you know it I found two 14 inch hubcaps that match the original 13 inchers!

the ones I have were just painted. That's what stock car rims are, a no frill cheap rim, I can't imagin those guys worrying about who's got the more pimpin rims out on the track...

No, they can rust up pretty easily down here, too, from the water vapor injected into the tire when it is inflated.

I had a friend who ran Legends cars that use these wheels and a spec 205/60r13 BFG compT/A HR4 tires. At the time I had a Vega and bolted one of his used sets of them on. It actually looked better than you'd think but the mushy suspension on the Vega killed any performance there was to be had. That and a Legends car weighs about 1300lbs and has real suspension, and a Vega quite hefty. Also the 1200cc Yamaha engine in a Legends car put out around 20 more hp than a 2300cc Vega. That makes a Legends car a handfull and a Vega (or 2300 MII) a turd. This turned into a lengthy post but the bottom line is tires wider than they are tall are for the most part always neato, as long as the rim is 15" or less, and if you get a chance to drive a Legends car do it, they get scary in a hurry.

We have legends cars and variations on them here, they are fun to watch, really close racing. I wonder if I could build and register a Hayabusa powered legend convertable, now that would be fun

I don't see why you couldn't register a legends car if it meets all DOT requirements for lights etc... Call it a kit car or something.
Back to the stock car wheels. I'm seriously considering trying my cheater slicks on a new set of bart rims with no tubes in them. I originally was going to run my car like this, but they would leak once I put screws in them to hold them to the rim. I used a ton of screws, but if I went with half of what I used, it will hold air. I've been told no tubes = about .1 seconds at the track. I had to drill out the valve stem hole for the tubes hence to try this I need new rims. Just tossing out an idea.

Parthos... I think you could still use your rims with the valvestem hole drilled out. I have seen valvestems that require a bigger mounting hole than the standard little car ones. I think they were to be used in medium truck rims or something. Anyway, ask around, there is more than one size. Maybe one of those brass permanent type ones with the grommet and a nut to hold it all in would work?
