OK,There are a few things on my new car that I want to know if they are stock or not. First off it has an h-pipe,stock or not? Also it has chrome fuel rails, they say ford on them, and it has some other chrome thingy giggers over behind the intake on passenger side, they look some kind of vaccuum stuff.Oh, almost forgot it has a shock tower brace from one tower to the other and to the fire wall(it is black and doesn't look like a fancy aftermarket part). Is that stock? Thanx,Wes

The strut brace is stock. The fuel rails are stock, the chrome intake thing I have no idea what you're talking about. If it has 6 cats, its a stock H pipe.

fuel rails and h-pipe are probably stock... you'll need to get under the car to see if there are any cats attached..if there are less than 4, then probably not stock (h-pipe)..the tower brace bar is not stock...not sure what the chrome thingy giggers are..

Hey, thanx yall. Oh one more ? how to the stock cams sound at idle, are they super smooth or do they have a slight.......well i guess rumble, not really a lope but rough idle. Reason i am asking is the car doesn't feel stock at all. It feel to fast to be. And it has sortof a rough idle to it.

If you wanna know if its stock we could always run um
If I pull on you real real hard its stock.
Take it to union hill 1/8th mile track on tues nights and get a baseline.
Probably will run 10's or very high 9's.

This car is beginning to sound rougher and rougher every thread. It likely has stock cams. Aftermarket cams for the mod motor are just now gaining wide popularity. They are not really cheap and the labor is pretty involved and expensive. Somehow I think you just have a rough idle. Try cleaning pintle in the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve with carb cleaner. Go out to a local auto parts store and pick up a Chiltons or Haynes repair manual - it has a ton of info for less than $20.

Yeah, I need to get a haynes manual. I'm asking so many ?s about the car because we got it at an auction so we don't have any clue about the history of the car. 03-s281 we might go tonight but we are runnin low on cash. 10s or high 9s...........HA i'll just slap on a few stickers and lay a whoopin on you. LOL. I hate rice. MY friend Louis rode in it and he said it felt like a low 9s car. But of course you never know how the track is gonna be and all that. He has a 68 camaro that was runin 7.8. You probly seen him there, he goes every tues. My brother has a 78 nova that ran An 8.8 w/o him launching and him and louis both said it felt about as fast as the nova. I can't wait to go and find out.
