I'm putting in a set of Pinto hi-back bucket seats. They look just like the 70-73 Mustang Hi-backs, except a little narrower, fitting between the trans tunnel and rocker area better. Looks like the MII seat tracks and stuff might bolt right on. They don't recline, but they do fold forward so you could climb into the back.

The Fox seat swap seems to be the more popular one. I just never cared for the looks of a newer seat in an older interior.

I have Fox seats in mine and find they are too high. There was another thread here that suggested Escort GT seats. That's what I'm going to try.

Here's a pic I took yesterday. Gave me a good excuse to pull the II out of it's coccoon and take it for a hot lap around the block.
The seats are in dire need for re-upholstery but i think you can get the jist of what they would look like. Oh- and they also bolted right in, no mods what so ever. Will have to change the seat tracks on the passenger Pinto seat as it was on fixed mounts, they didn't slide forward or backward. Looks like the II tracks will bolt right up.

6'1" ... I have 83 T-Bird TC seats in my 78 and 85' T-Bird TC seats in my Mach 1 and Coupe. All 3 have adjustable lumbar supports. I use the height adjustable Mustang II rails and find them to be quite comfy for me.

Guess it's gonna differ depending on the person, and the only seats I have to compare to are the stock seats which suck imho.

Quick headrest change - updated look

Try switching out the headrests on the stock seats.

Use the larger style found on other years (1969 and late 80's early 90's)

Gives the stock seats a different look than the short squatty stock headrests.

I used 69 headrests and liked the looks.

I had my seats redone as hi-back buckets.

Just put the headrest up and fill the space.

Height adjustable seats were an option on Mustang II's (I have never seen one though). I just bolted the Mustang II seat brackets to the Fox seats which worked really good.

My Mach has a set as did the Ghia I parted out.

Both are/were 1978s. I don't know if this was the only year offered.

Thanks for reminding me, I forgot I had the second set.

Had one set (drivers side only) on the '77 CBII I had in Albuquerque.

Seems to me that the seat sat a little higher than the typical II seat even with the height adjusted all the way down. The frequent beatings to the cranium gettin in and out of that car...... I just didn't like 'em.

I do really like that raised and filled headrest idea COBRA 7. Good thinkin! I really like those, they turned out very nice!!
