Stock Shifter

Has anyone attempted to take out the stock shifter? Looks like it just drops into place unlike the one for the GT. I have had the boot off, but that is all I have done. Any help on this would be great.

i think that the v6 uses the t5 tranny. should be the same as older stangs. check out another forum for older stangs and see what you come up with.
