STP fuel probucts

did you pay for them or were they free?

i THINK there was a thread a few months ago that showed how those things don't work. BUT i might be mistaken however i haven't used any of those products on my car.

Hey the STP fuel injector cleaner does really work. When I used to have my 88GT my injectors got dirty and the car started stalling when i pulled up to stop signs and stuff and I put that treatment in and it fixed it. SO it was like $4 to clean my injectors so you can't beat that. STP recommends you pour a bottle in every 3000 miles. I would say that would be a little extreme I would probably go every 6000 or so...it's good to keep the injectors clean anyway for milage and performance...either way its better to spend just a few bux here and there than pay a huge amt when something fails on your car. Just my 2 cents. Maybe I'll get a bottle tomarrow for my 98 cobra I havent put any in for awhile

The BEST product of this type is Chevron Techron. Get the larger bottle good for 20 gal of gas.

Never used the Redline or Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner or fuel treatment but I know Redline is a reputable company who makes great oil so I would probably buy their fuel stuff if I knew where to get it?

If you use good gas you shouldn't need these products. The gas companys put cleaners in their fuel anyway. They might be a help if you use cheap no name gas.

All grades of Chevron gasoline include the Techron additive.

Techron Concentrate is intended for consumers who occasionally purchase a lower quality gasoline. Techron and Techron Concentrate are polyether amines of slightly different structure, each optimized for its specific application. The principal difference between Techron and Techron Concentrate is additive concentration and rate of deposit clean up.

At the concentration present in Chevron gasolines, Techron, over many tankfuls, will help clean up deposits on intake valves without contributing to combustion chamber deposits. Chevron gasolines with Techron, thus, over time, are able to reduce or eliminate deposit-related hesitation and stumbling during acceleration.

A bottle of Techron Concentrate, whose additive concentration is roughly 10 times stronger than the dose in Chevron gasolines, provides a quicker clean up of deposits left by lower quality gasolines. In addition, the high concentration of Techron in Techron Concentrate can help reduce or eliminate engine knock and run-on associated with combustion chamber deposits.

For consumers who buy exclusively Chevron gasolines with Techron, their cars very likely are delivering their best possible performance and operating at their lowest possible emissions. A bottle of Techron Concentrate, therefore, is not likely to provide any benefits to these consumers. However, for those consumers who do sometimes purchase a lower quality gasoline, Techron Concentrate will quickly restore performance lost by deposit accumulation. Testing has also proven that Techron Concentrate is effective in helping eliminate the carbon deposit buildup which contributes to combustion chamber deposit interference (CCDI).


Buying a higher quality gasoline will eliminate the need for the frequent use of concentrated additives.
