Got straight pipes put on the 98 GT today, sounds pretty sweet. What makes me mad is when u rev it up, it doesnt just fall right back down, its got that stupid thing where it slowly brings itself back down to idle, anyone know how to override this?

Do a search for idle and you'll find a thread somebody wrote a while back about how to eliminate it. It involves some modifications, but it'll probably do what you are looking for.

With straight pipes and a quick decel on the rpm's you will cackle and sound a bit "neckier" than what you are bargaining for, me thinks.

the computer does this when it relearning the new pulse the exhaust has now. if it doesnt go away in a few day pull the neg terminal on the battery and let it sit for more than a half hour then reconnect. if its still tempermental after a few days try to get your hands on a hand held tuner and upload the tune.

then theres the mods that sgarlic mentioned of being out there.

I did the IAC restrictor plate, it's not dramatic, but it works.
