Basically just straight pipes instead of mufflers. Sounds like ass if you ask me.

Depends on your tastes as to whether or not straight pipes would sound bad. However, the engine does need some backpressure to perform correctly and straightpipes basically eliminate any backpressure.

here's a clip of my mustang w/ no mufflers a.k.a straight pipes. It is basically the loudest exhaust you can get, but it is personal opinion as to wheter it sounds good or not:

03-Black-GT... yours sounds alot louder and rhaspier than mine. Do you have a catted or catless midpipe?

This is a clip of mine... im in the white GT, and youll hear me over the grey one...http://videos.streetfire.net/search/mustang+vs+mustang/0/434a46ed-ff5c-47a7-b424-8c0efddd5190.htm

I think there might be some misunderstanding here. He might just mean he has a Mac offroad H-pipe. By straight pipes, I think he is trying to say that there isn't any cats on the H-pipe he is selling. What straight pipes really means, is putting just a straight piece of pipe where your mufflers are. That doesn't sound TOO bad, for a super economy exhaust job, but if it were up to me, I would only do that with the stock midpipe, and I would put up glasspacks instead of just pipe. Now, if I am right and he is just talking about getting a midpipe without cats, definitely throw it on there with the stock catback. It will sound pretty good. O/R midpipe with straight pipes=butt. Catted mid+straight pipes=less loud butt. O/R H+glasspacked stock catback=close to Magnapacks.

isn't there a muffler that is a fiberglass style that basicly just curves a little on the inside. Center in, offset out. i think ive seen them at auto stores as a universal fit. could be Magna Flow

I dunno too loud and raspy for me.

Kid i "sorta" know has an '03 Cobra with straight pipes. It's basically an catless H-pipe, with no mufflers and just pipe to the tailpipes.

He's 18 so he thinks loud is cool but personally it's just way too loud and lacks tone and kinda obnoixious.

A nice sounding exhaust is classy, while straight pipes seems a little "redneck" to me in my opinion.

There are Cherry Bombs that have angled ends on them. You can put them in place of the stock mufflers no problem. They come in different lengths, so I reccomend cutting out your stock mufflers first, (cut as close to the muffler as possible)take the muffler up to a parts store, and ask to look at their glasspack selection. They come in various lengths and angles, so find the one that lines up with your stock muffler the best. If you want to run dumps, grab the shortest non-angled glasspacks, and get two turndowns. That is one mean sounding setup, let me tell you.
