and yea, i also spend over $300 for new o2's because dealerships find fake problems when they want to be lazy.

Is the MAF clocked properly?

I remember reading that if they're off just a bit...it screws things up.

i think so, it's pointing straight down, at the "12 oclock" position


o and i have a quick question, the guy at autozone cleared out the SES light, obviously it's going to come back on, but if I take it to the shop before it comes back will the code pop up when the guy scans it? or do i hafta drive it around til it comes on again

if its cleared then the history should have been cleared, it will need to act up and come on again.

but the TI CAI back on, its not that. you already stated that it started with the exhaust. if it came on at that point then you very well may have a leak on the exhaust. i dont think you are running lean though... mine is around 15:1 and i dont have any codes being thrown.

on a side note stick with 89 gas.... mine does the same thing as far as not liking the 87....

more details about it acting 'jumpy.' how often does it do it, does the car stall at start up sometimes or at stop lights, will it drop RPMs when the car is at idle etc...????

well i put the stock airbox on, i really didnt think it was that but it took 10 minutes, i'll put it back on when i solve this problem

as for the RPMs, i really only noticed it when I was going up a hill, the car does almost stall and shut down when I come to a complete stop, as I put in the clutch the RPMs hang for quite a while it seems, then they drop to about 1100, then I stop at the light, then they drop to about 500 and the stick gets a little jittery, then it goes back up to about 800

the thing is the shop said it was installed with no leaks, and I hear no clicking, i do hear a psssshhhhhh bouncing off of curbs/medians when I drive past them though, no clue what that is

does anyone know which way the gasket faces between the mid pipe and manifold on the pass. side?

if i remember correctly, one side is completely flat, and the other side has the rubberish oval thing protruding out

xpipes do have an air rush sound to them, mine does. i thought it was a leak after i installed it, and i checked it out. no leak. took it to a shop to make sure it wasnt a leak and they said everything was perfect.

as for the RPM issue, try cleaning your IAC w/ some carb cleaner and see if that doesnt fix the problem.

ok now im really confused, i was going to pick up the box i had being made (for my 10" infinity kappa perfect and Kicker KX600, hooray, something in the positive direction!) and decided to stop by autozone again

code came out P1151.....A/F somethin or other, i'm about to try and look it up

but nothing to do with the O2 sensor, and I just put the stock airbox back on too

o no......if a heated oxygen sensor switch is a wire, i remember pulling into my gym to go lift and there was a wire about 10 feet away from my car, this was right after my O2's were switched, but it was like 3 feet long, and half of it was stripped of insulation, I brushed it off like it was nothing, any insight?

any input, im hearing on corral it's either a vacuum leak or an exhaust leak

stripped of insulation? recheck that wire and see if copper is exposed or torn

it was a chunk of wire laying in the parking lot, i wonder...

i dunno, i feel so helpless at this point, it's back at the mechanic, i'll see what he says tomorrow, any more problems and i'm handin my nuts over to the dealer

you go back to the dealership and demand you money back from the o2 sensors cause they didn't fix the problem.

P1151 - Lack of HO2S-21 Switch, Sensor Indicates Lean

Description:
A HEGO sensor indicating lean at the end of a test is trying to correct for an over-rich condition. The test fails when fuel control system no longer detects switching for a calibrated amount of time.

Possible Causes:
Electrical:
Short to VPWR in harness or HO2S
Water in harness connector
Open/Shorted HO2S circuit
Corrosion or poor mating terminals and wiring
Damaged HO2S
Damaged PCM
Fuel System:
Excessive fuel pressure
Leaking/contaminated fuel injectors
Leaking fuel pressure regulator
Low fuel pressure or running out of fuel
Vapor recovery system
Induction System:
Air leaks after the MAF
Vacuum Leaks
PCV system
EGR System:
Leaking gasket
Stuck EGR valve
Leaking diaphragm or EVR
Base Engine:
Oil overfill
Cam timing
Cylinder compression
Exhaust leaks before or near the HO2S(s)
