My brother has a 97 mustang gt and he is getting a studder in it when he exccelerates. He changed plugs and wires and he said he gapped the plugs. Both coil packs have been replaced and i cleaned the mas air flow sensor. Any other suggestions would be great!

Check the vacuum lines and all hoses. Also make sure the PCV valve is good and has no oil blow by.

Has he checked the plugs to make sure they havent started backing out? This can happen if they weren't tightened down enough.

The motor is misfiring. Sounds like your hardware is a-ok tho. Try regapping plugs to something tighter, like 0.040" or 0.035". If not, try new PCM calibration from Ford dealer, but that runs $80. Fixed my 99 GT that was doing the same ****.

Is he sure it's a missfire issue and not a problem within the drivetrain. A bad U-Joint will make the car shudder when taking off as well.

to be honest.. if you remove the MAF.... and it smooths out.. :Your throttle response should go to hell... cause your computer doesnt know what is going on. So it reverts back to the dump fuel command and blindly shoots fuel into the engine... If if didnt do anything.. which is kinda bad.. it is your MAF
