Hey just got my pair of steeda full length subframe connectors and was wondering what everyones opinion was on painting them.

Should I give them a few quick coats of paint before they are installed and then touch up the welds or should I just wait till after the install and hit them then?

Thanks

well before you weld them up make sure you grind down the bottom of the car and the subframes where you will be welding them.

Just makes sense to paint them after... atleast to me lol.

Paint them before, grind off all the weld areas and then come in and give the welds a touch up of spray paint.

I sprayed mine with a couple cans of undercoating after welding. The stuff holds up good!

I painted mine with Sherwin Williams Rust inhibitor before.

They sand, grind, and weld the subframes so some of the paint will wear off, but to have the top side unpainted will lead to rust. They can't spray the top of the connectors once they are welded on.

should have got the zinc coated steeda ones. I bought a set 2 months ago. They were only 20$ more then the steel ones and you dont have to paint them, only where you weld. Plus they are cool looking to boot!
