Who has installed subs in the trunk and what size can you go up to? One place tells me I can do 12" Infiniti. Another tells me the largest I should go is 10" subs.

well how much boot space do you want.

I mean you could probably fit a 20" with to 12"'s but it wouldn't leave a lot of room for anything else.

Or try listening to MUSIC rather than boom boom stuff, lol.

I take it those are 12's? What are those? Were you or they able to get the manufacturer recommended air space and the box through the trunk opening?

They're Diamond Audio TDX 12's. The enclosures are right in the middle of Diamond's recommended volume (1.25 to 1.75 cubic feet, IIRC). Pretty sure these are like 1.55. And yes, the box was built outside the trunk.

People still put stuff like that in their cars? I thought that was over in like 1994.

Like all trends they come back around every 10 years or so. Back in 82 my 82 GT had 2 12" Cerwin Vega's, 4 6.5" Infinity 3 way's, Pioneer TS-T3's in the dash, Nakamichi amps and head unit. People thought the car was from outer space . I'll have a nice JL audio system in the 05 GT, but nothing like the days gone by.

Ditto, but I'll probably use Elemental Designs since they've been so good to me thus far.

I didn't realize it was a trend to want your music to sound good. Since the stock system sounds like turd on the low end, why wouldn't someone put in better subs to bring out the bass. Just because someone has subs doesn't mean he is rattling his kidneys loose. Seems like it is only a matter of time before folks are screaming "Rice" on nice speakers.

Really, when I saw a picture of the Diamond install, I didn't think "rice" I thought "Damn, someone wants good stuff. Diamond is pricey, but good stuff.
