im haveing a problem with my car cutting out.
i think its suckin oil throw that vacum line . that goes from the upper intake to the back of the lower intake.
1st. Are you having a oil consumption problem?
2nd. If you pull the line off is it saturated with oil inside?
3rd. Are you blowing smoke out of the tail pipes?
4th. What do the plugs look like?
whats oil consumption?
and i havent pulled the line yet to check if is saturated.
and it dosent smoke
and the plugs look brand new still i put them in lik 3 months ago.
How often do you have to add oil?
What makes you think your sucking oil?
What RPM does it start to cut up?
How are the plugs and wires? Cap and rotor?
Has this been an on going problem or did this problem start all at once?
beacuse i changed the upper manifold because my old one was sucking oil up in to the upper intake but it was cutting out. so i canged the upper and it ran good at first then it started cutting out and i thought it was fuel. so i gotta brand new regulator , newer injectors , fuel filter , wires , plugs , cap and rotor. and i think thats it.
and it doesnt start cutting out intel about 4000 rpms and up.
and its been doing its since i changed the upper.
Have you checked timing?
If the plugs are'nt covered in oil and look VERY clean it might be running lean at high RPM's. What mods are done to the car? ANY info as to what has been done to the car will help. Are there any vacuum leaks?
the only vacume leak is the hose to the egr.
the has a b cam with ported heads and roller rockers 70mm throttle body 75 mass air , headers . umm have the smog pump delete and a/c delete.
i checked the timing a while ago when i put the upper back on so idk ill check that tomorrow.
A high RPM miss on a warm engine is usually a TFI module problem. The TFI module mounts on the side of the distributor and provides a ground to fire the coil.
