suggestions for headlights?

I'm really starting to like those "blue tinted" headlights that I've seen a bit more lately.

They are a bit brighter than normal (which can be annoying at times, but oh well) and they seem to be a different kind of bulb than normal white lights.

I want to keep my normal parking lights, which are separate units from the headlights, but I'd like to replace the headlights.

Does anyone have any ideas what kind these are, and where to find them?

Thanks a bunch.

those are NOT blue tinted.... those are HIDs

to do this you would need an hid conversion kit and a lens that will work with it. i.e. the cobra lenses

teh HID kits you are looking at 500-700 for a kit.

now of course you could get cobra lenses and get sylvania silverstars. they are bright and very crisp.

do NOT get wannabe HID-like normal bulbs.

wow, I had no idea headlights could cost so much. Thank you 95snoozer, that sheds a lot of light on things

I did a little searching for HID headlights, and it seems they use Xenon, where most bulbs are tungsten or halogen. That might partially explain the price.

Well, that may be something to consider in the future. Thanks again for the tip.

Also, they run on much more voltage. I think it's in the thousands if I remember correctly. It needs a power inverter to run the headlights. That is the majority of the cost.

But the real HID's are really nice. The fake ones are ghey!

I'm hestitant to buy bulbs from anyone but oem or sylvania (who happens to provide oem bulbs for a couple car companys anyways) .. heard too many times people would buy $.02 bulbs off ebay and have em burn out in a week

Thanks again for the good input...

I don't have the money to get HID's right now, but the Sylvania Silverstars/Cool Blues are appealing to me. Alot of people seem to like them.

I've been browsing a bit, and noticed a few people mention that the silverstars are kind of yellow. I'm looking for something just _slightly_ blue, but close to the same intensity as HID's.
The Sylvania Cool Blues are priced well, but I've seen they aren't supposed to be blue or something.

I found the thread: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=423908
It shows the silverstars, does anyone have pics of the cool Blues with cobra clears?

EpiKk3, I agree, I've been burned with other things on ebay before...that ended up being more expensive than cheap to maintain.

Thanks

Hmm those silverstars do look a bit yellow in that pic.. I've never seen em on a mustang before, my friends prelude that has them looks VERY white.. but theyre lights are diff than ours obviously.. and I thought the cool blues were supposed to be a bit blue .. i mean hince cool blue  oh well whichever you get take some pics .. im interested myself

Just for reference. After a bit of sylvania.com surfing, I found kind of a neat product comparison chart thing...

They look pretty nice. But I guess, I'm just not sold on what I want yet...

Maybe I'll venture into what the power inverter entales...if they cost that much, someone would have had to come up with a cheaper solution...if I can figure something out, I'll post it here.

Thanks again.
