I am new to modding but learning as I go. I am looking for some suggestions on where to go next. I have a 95 GT 5 speed. Next weekend Im installing a Mongoose clutch, trickflow street burner upper and lower, bbk 70mm throttle body, new comp cams double roller timing chain, bassani cat-less x pipe and prochamber mufflers with 2 1/2in pipe.

Next on my list is some 3.73 (because i will do some highway driving) and some subframe connectors.

Now when it comes to the next step im not sure where to go. When you make a suggestion let me know why.

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

I always invest in a good shifter on a 5 speed car. It's not that expensive, and it makes a huge difference.

Suspension would be a good thing. With those gears i would most def get upper and lower control arms. It makes such a diffrence, as for suspension i have kyb struts and shocks and am very pleased. As for the next engine mod sounds like a set of heads.

I am not that knowledgeable when it comes to heads. Can you give me some direction on what I am looking for. I am not gonna get a supercharger or turbo on this car. I want it to be all motor. Not going crazy either. Can I stick with the stock heads and go with some roller rockers and new valve springs or should i get a different set of heads and work off those?

First off our stock heads SUCK that is one of the main problems with our cars. with your build id go with sum gt40s heads and have them redone by a local shop. They are still a iron head and you can find them fairly cheap and its a good increase in power and should work well with your set up. There is tons of info on these heads and there are lots of smart guys on this fourm to help you

With an open ended Q such as that you are gonna get all kinds of
replies cause what makes a great Stang to one is not the same
to another Stang owner

At least give a major category

Do you wanna have ..............
more power
go around corners better
look better
etc

Short throw shift as Kurt mentioned, also under drive pulleys are great for a gain across the entire RPM range, same with long tube headers.

If u get gt40s....don't get them reworked. By the time u spend that money you might as well buy used aluminum heads like trickflow twisted wedge or edelbrock performer.

Yea my biggest suggestion is to put any plan onto paper...with $ estimates. Then add an extra piggy bank for the stuff u forget about.

Often times some ideas seem great...but once u get down that path you're better off doing something else

I bought an entire explorer motor with gt40p's and about 70k on it for $500. Swapped the springs, converted to stud mount rollers and ran them. That may be a better option for now depending on where the OP wants to be in a few years.

I wish i could go back to the old me and tell him to just save and buy what i want...1 time. Instead of buying this here....that there.....this here....then realizing im buying crap twice. Yea....it takes longer. But in the end, it saves $$$$$$$$$$$.

I was looking at a set of gt40 heads to put on it and also swap out the cam. With all of this will the stock MAF handle all of this or will I need to start upgrading with that, fuel pump and injectors? Also any recomendations on a cam? There is sooo much to choose from.

How much you wanna spend? You won't be able to make enough power N/A with GT40 heads to require an MAF upgrade.
