I tried installing my summit racing billet aluminum alternator bracket and it does not fit. The spacers in the kit are too long so the bracket hits the water pump pulley (stock 3 Groove). Anyone ever experience this problem? Thanks.

This is the kit for reference.

The kit is made for those that have a single or possibly dual groove pulley. Very few had a three groove water pump pulley. I've only seen a three groove water pump pulley on a 70's pickup truck with a 390.

You need a single groove pulley if you're only running an alternator. What engine and year is it ?

I thought maybe I had the pulleys, but I don't. I got a buch for the 70-up 302/351's, and one single groove set for a 70. But nothing earlier.

Yea, which one ? I've got three -three groove 302/351 pulleys and the one single groove pulley and matching waterpump pulley from a 70, I mentioned above.
