Super Charger?

I have a 06 Mustang GT which is an automatic. Can it be supercharged? Also, what is the gear ratio on automatics? Any help would be appreciated.

I switched over to a manual with my car, but before that I had the Procharger with 4.10's. Great combo.

numerically higher gear ratios offer quicker acceleration, but can slightly decrease your top speed. 4.10 is the most commonly used gear when going aftermarket.

Thanks for the info. So running 4.10s would allow me to spin the wheels at launch easier than the 3.31's? It seems very hard to spin the wheels on takeoff with the stock 3.31s right now.

If you supercharge an automatic you should get the 3.73 gear.
If you stay naturally aspirated 4.10 would be good choice.

if you go with centi style supercharger like a procharger or vortech, paxton etc. then I would go atleast 3.73 or 4.10's If you go with a KB that builds boost faster then I would stay with 3.73 tops.

4.10's are the only way to go with an auto whether it's na, blown twin screw, roots or centrifugal. The autos love 4.10's. At 80mph, you'll only be taching 3000 rpm's and that big gap between 3rd and 4th demands 4.10's. I don't mean to be a know it all, but when my car was an auto I had different gears in it while blown and na. The 4.10's were best in both situations. As far as manual transmissions go, which my car is now, the gears of choice are 4.10 or 4.30.

I highly recomend Paxton. I have had good service out of their blowers. Also they look good and are an easy install. Be ready to pay about $3500.

Whatever you choose make sure it has an intercooler.You start jamming boost to these engines it should be as cool as possible.

You will get an overwhelming response for Ford Racing (FRRP) gears. That's what you want. You can pick them up all over. Just get a stang magazine and shop around. The gears should cost around $180. If you only have a couple of thousand or less miles on the car you won't need an install kit which is around $80 or so. Once the gears are installed the speedo can be corrected by the dealer or a Predator, Excal 2. Figure on paying $200-$300 for the install.
