Are superchargers their own intake or do you have to have some sort of carb for them to bolt on to? Just Wondering

the carb bolts on top if its a root style. If it is cintrivical then there is a length of tubing that goes from the supercharger to the carb.

There are either roots or centrifugal. Roots are the big blowers that stick through the hood. The carbs mount on top. They require special intake manifolds built specifically for the supercharger.

Centrifugal uses normal style intake manifold. Carb mounts on the intake with a bonnet on the carb, or (as Paxton does it) carb fits in a sealed box and the whoel thing is pressurized with boost. The supercharger mounts on brackets, and a cast aluminum or steel tube connects the supercharger to the bonnet/enclosure.

hey for the first time today i saw the nitrous kit that is like a spacer plate. It just kind of sits between the carb and the intake. it's even all set up already if you buy a kit for it. just plug n' play, lol.
