What's the best ATI kit? P1sc, D1sc? Is the 800hp interooler upgrade worthwhile for a street car?

The D1sc is a better blower because it can push more boost without spinning as fast. However, the P1sc is all you need for a stock bottom end.

You should upgrade to the 3-core intercooler no matter what boost you plan on running. Not sure how many cooler options they have, but I was under the assumption it was 2 and 3 core. In any case, the bigger the intercooler the better to keep the charge cool.

I was thinking the D1 for down the road since it would be easier to get up front if it can perform ok at lower boost until a rebiuld. The HO kits come with a 3 core, but an 800hp intercooler is an option...

The more I read the more I like the PC.

It's definitely a nice set up and the price is good. The bigger the cooler the better so I'd get it if I were you. You could get the D1 now or exchange later.

One thing everyone here has failed to mention is how lean the stock tune is at the top end. I would seriously think about getting a custom tune if you want to keep the engine in one piece.

Absolutely...isn't there a link to the SCT article on this site or modularmustangs?

That's correct. Kevin MacDonald from Diablosport told me that you should NEVER red line these engines with any canned blower tune. That's not to say that you may get lucky with a canned tune. A lot of guys do get lucky just because the tune happens to work well, but that's just luck.

you guys are crazy to go for the d1 kit.. unless you plan on pushing 800+ hp the pc1 will do it. I believe the break in for the SC was 500 miles. I dove my car a few weeks and never went over 4K till I got it dyno tuned. Hopefully soon I will hear the sound of my girl talking to me... its been ohh so long
