I am trying to get my car running for my sons birthday on May 7th since I promised him a ride in it but have ran into some issues. Being that I am blowing through the carb. is there anyway to modify the secondaries since they are currently vacuum operated? I have taken the vac. pod off of it sealed the orifice and am using a bolt throught the butterfly linkage to accuate throttle shaft Also I have a vac. advanced distributor and worry that it may not operate correctly when under boost. Stupid questions I know but I am new to supercharging. Also FYI I did modify the carb to be ready for boost but hope this vac. secondarys issue isnt a stopping point.

www.turbomustangs.com they have a carb forum.
regarding the vac adv, as long as it's hooked up to a timed port (not pulling vacuum at idle), then it'll be fine.

I went through the same thing, never could get the seconary's to open. Finally went to a manual sec. carb. solved all my problems.

mech sec would be better but

there is a thread located on www.turbomustangs.com in the carb forum that addresses converting a vac. sec. carb. for blow thru. it is however easier and safer to modify a mech sec carb for blowthru.
