Hello,

I realize this might be considered off topic, but I think this is something that will potentially really benefit people who paint cars professionally or otherwise, so I would really like to get your opinions!

I am considering marketing a new service that will allow you to take a digital picture of what you want to paint and see colors applied to it before you paint. Professional painters could even make customized marketing materials or enhance the consultation phase with customers.

By filling out a short, online survey, you can share your opinions and help shape this service.

Participation in this survey is strictly voluntary. In addition, the information that is collected will only be used to determine the results of the survey, so you will not be added to any mailing or other contact lists.

If you would like to try this service on a Mustang, please visit http://www.justingesso.com/paint/car.aspx.

To take the survey, please click on this link http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=515711974403.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 720-352-7352. Thank you very much for your assistance.

Sincerely,

Justin Gesso

Well, I'm certainly not spamming a bunch of different forums--I think this is something that people who are interested in how their car looks would be very interested in.

Make sure to take a look at the tech demo before you decide if this is truly unrelated to this forum: http://www.justingesso.com/paint/car.aspx.

I have a 96 GT myself that I've done a lot of work on. If I ever have to paint it, I would love to see what it would look like first!

So, if you still think this is spam, feel free to delete it--but I didn't intend for it to be.

Pretty cool lookin idea so far. Will you be able to choose any color, or just a small set? Also, will you be able to change the color on different objects (e.g. spoiler one color, hood another, rest of car another)?

It would be completely open--any color, any part. You can even do decals, gradients, and patterns.

It takes time to define what the car is, so separating out the spoiler, hood, and whatever else would take more time. However, once the car parts are defined, changing colors takes virtually no time. That part is easy.
