Ok guys i know nothing at all about suspension. My fox drives like a boat on the highway. Im guessing its all stock and with 210,000 miles its worn out. So what do i need, shocks, struts? I want something thats not 2 expensive but not cheap. And more towards racing than just regular driving. Also I would like to lower the car a little bit to. Im not this dumb when it comes to other stuff, i have just never had an older car that needed this kind of work done. So what do i need for the front, the rear and also to lower it?(springs i guess)?? I just want to order everything at the same time and do it all at once. Thanks for the help.

For an economical improvement, go with some FMS or Eibach springs and bilstein shock/struts. I would definately spend some good money on your shock/strut setup. Also, you will likely want to change out the spring isolators and sway bar bushings and endlinks for stuff from energy suspension. If you have the money, get some weight jacker rear control arms. That will allow you better grip of the line and adjustment in the rear height. Don't forget about camber caster plates too .....

energy suspen. bushings suck, ive seen stock bushings last longer than them

Rynb15 - Your guess is right, the dampers are old and need a replacement, although all the suspension componets have their share of wear in them, for the budjet minded, KYB has good replacment 'cheap' shocks/struts that'll give a slight more stiffer feel from stock new, start there

Get some Ford C springs, KYB or Tokico shocks, rear lower control arms, and weld in some subframe connectors. Your car will be awesome. Fun to drive on the twisties and not too harsh for daily driving.

I've had KYB shocks on all my 5.0's, and I just finished putting a set in my current car today. I have always been happy with their performance, and they are pretty cheap. Some people say they suck, but I think they are a good budget choice.

i would rather be beaten with a kyb shock or strut then put them on any of my cars, they barley pass as a stock replacement. The first problem with fox suspension is the car itself, it is limp like a dick at a retierment home, subframe connectors are a must, also k-member braces are good, and a strut tower brace. The key to good handling is the right parts i would call maximum Motorsports, and then listen to what they say and then send them all the money you can find, they are the best. I have thier sfc and coil over kit with the bilstien shocks, so the ride height is adjustable so you can set the stance to your prefecance, and the car handles perfect, i have yet to find the limits of it and i drove race cars for the last 11 years!!!!!. i spent 1800 bucks, on the coil overs and sfc and a little more on a few odds and ends but it is worth it, trust me. They will also tell you that thier panhard bar kit for the rear makes a huge differenace, and i hope to find out soon, but get the coils now, and the other stuff later, pm if you have any other questions
