How long should this project take me

We are installing

Shocks/Struts
Springs
Caster/Camber Plates

I have a guy whos a mechanic helping me.

How long did it take you guys?

should easily be under 8-hrs. don't forget an alignment afterwards.

if you have the right tools(air) and equipment(rack & pole jack) then under 4 hrs.

What kind of C/C plates? If you have 4 bolt you'll need to drill holes into the strut towers which isn't hard but adds that much more time. The 3 bolt plates will go right in.

Read over some install how tos prior to get you metally prepared and it might help with the install so you know exactly what you're up to instead of fumbling over step by step instructions on the spot.

The second time I lowered a car (Cobra) was obviously much faster then the first and we flew through it. 4 hours all said and done is not of the question if you have a mechanic helping you with the right tools.

Springs took me and my dad about 2 hours. We started with the front tires, once you get one of those done it makes the rest a lot more simple. Good luck to ya

first time w/air tools: 4-6 hrs.
second time w/air tools: 3-4 hrs.

hardest part is kicking the front springs out of their perch and then getting the top nut off the front struts. you will need the plastic shield off the stock struts and one of the rubber stops as well I believe! If you don't have air tools, do yourself a favor and buy them. DO NOT attempt this install w/out them.

When taking the top nut off the struts you'll have to wedge a flat head screwdriver between the strut shaft and casing otherwise the shaft will just turn inside the casing when trying to loosen the top nut!

Im ok as far as tools Were using his shops garage they have a lift, air tools and all the other goodies

you should be fine then, it's one of the easier mod's IMO!

with air tools, it shouldn't take you more then 4 hours. i did my springs and shocks/struts in about 2 1/2 hours. the hardest part will be getting the springs out. use a prying bar to pop the spring out once you've lowered the control arm all the way, by disconnected the strut, caliper, and sway-bar. lowering springs are easier to put in since they are shorter. if you don't have air tools, expect much more time, bloody knuckles, and swearing.

Not if you have an impact wrench.

It's worth the investment, and really paid off on the second car we lowered consecutively as it popped right off.

I did have an impact wrench, the shaft just spun inside the strut casing until I wedged it with a screwdriver!

I had a local shop install my shocks, struts, springs, and sway bars. He did it in 3 hours.

When you say alignment, do you mean the basic wheel alignment?

i installed front and back suspension on my car in under 3 hours without air tools, but air tools obviously help.

DO NOT USE AIR TOOLS ON THE TOP STRUT NUT! It is ok to use air tools on the bolts that hold the strut to the spindle.

GOOD LUCK and dont forget an alignment.
