I was just wondering what kind of suspension set up people are running. I am about to lower my car 1 1/2 inches and I wanted to see what was tried and true as far as springs, shocks, control arms, and cc plates go. Thanks in advance for the replies

If you go with steeda springs which are a 1.25 drop you definately won't need C/C plates. Might be worth it since everyone's complaining about clanking c/c plates lately. Struts and shocks everyone is happy with bilstein just about.. but if you get annoyed by a stiff ride look into Tokico Ilummina 5-way adjustables. Control arms look at Maximum Motorsports, Pro3i, or Steeda.. seems like those keep people pretty satisfied unlike some of the others out there.
I'll be buying steeda aluminum LCA's this summer to drop the unsprung weight a tad. Both Griggs and MM recommend Ford Racing Upper control arms. You can find those for 65 bucks online

check out the Hotchkis TVS before you make any decisions. I have this kit on my car and love it. I also get lots of questions on just how I lowered it to give it the stance it has. www.hotchkis.net

Eibach pro kit springs, steeda ucas & lcas (Metco adjustable ucas & lcas now), and that's that.

Thanks for the responses and pics. Your cars look awesome . I will check into all of your suggestions and see what will fit my needs the best. My car will be an occasional drag car and possibly a few auto-x races, so I think I need to get a pretty adaptable suspension. Thanks again guys...

See sig for details.

I consider my setup a very good street setup (it handles very well) ... very tolerable daily driver.

spings there are quite a few I went with h&r because I wanted good drop but a spring that still had performance in mind.

CC plates people whine about them but they do help with making the mount of your strut more ridgid and help you account for the lowering of you car with relation to the stut. IF you are performance minded you will add them to your shopping list.

shocks and stuts

tokico ILL (adj) $450
bilstien (non-adJ) $480
koni (adj) $550
QA1 (adj) ~$600

this in in order on least expensive to most expensive. If you still want a very "smooth" ride go with ajustables. I am kind of wishing I had steped up to the koni's for the wife factor.

You add these three items and it will feel like a diffenent car.

I am going to do subframes as well.

Well I am doing this for performance reasons and I am not too worried about ride quality, hell it doesn't ride that great on the factory stuff. Thanks again for the replies everyone!

I live on the North side of Columbus. Where is Kil-Kare located? Both the tracks I go to now are about 1 1/2 hours away from me.

micool and GIJoe are my heroes. But I can't think of a way to get over 600 HP without getting divorced.

It's in Xenia--probably pretty far for you. It's about 1/2 hour southeast of me.
