I will be lowering my 2002 GT about 2 inches soon by replacing the stock springs. I will also be adding new shocks/struts to match. Will offset steering rack bushings be enough for this much of a "drop", or should a "bump steer kit" be added? If the kit is added, do I still need the rack bushings? Also I'm assuming that I should get c/c plates, but are they mainly for good tire wear or to they help correct suspension geometry as well? Am I forgetting anything else important I need with this set up?

Do not drop it so far and you will make it a lot easier on yourself.

For 2" you will need CC plates. Also, you may be into the range where you will need special ball joints, etc, etc.

You are getting close to the "replace the whole f'n suspension" zone. Add up what you are spending and then come to your senses...

When you do consider just getting this:

GSTANGT is right about costing $$$, but if you want the 2" drop and you want to do it right then you need:

1. Springs (of course)
2. matched Shocks/struts
3. Taller balljoints (raises the front roll steer back to where it should be)
4. a bumpsteer kit - with this you won't need the offset bushings
5. CC plates - preferably the 4 bolt kind so that you can actually adjust things

the last 3 things are there to correct the suspension geometry. Your mustang already comes from the factory with bad understeer, and if you don't do these things, then you're only going to make the understeering problem much worse.
