Im looking to upgrade my stock suspension and there are so many options that i would like some opinions. I have an 82 GT. My brother has an 87GT with FMS progressive springs and tokiko shocks. To be honest it sucks, the ride is horribly bumpy and he didnt gain alot of twisty turney advantage. Ive been looking at summit racing package and Maximum motorsports stuff. Summits package comes with adjustable strange engineering shocks and struts, ford racing springs and hotchkis caster camber plates...i want to combine this with a set of upper and lower control arms from UPR. This package totals 900 bucks. the other option is Maximum motorsports "road and track" package comes with bilstein shocks and struts, caster camber plates, k member brace, lower control arms, bushins and panhand bard...lots of misc little stuff for 1800 bucks. Im not hardcore autocross or drag. I want a package that will be a very nice all around package. So is MM worth the extra money for what i want? i already have a 6pt roll bar and subframes. What packages do you have? what works and what doesnt? any insight would be helpful...Thank you.

In my fox right now I personally run Wolfe rear suspension and a GNP tubular k member/control arms and strange coil overs.(drag race setup)..but you can not go wrong with the maximum motorsports stuff..its prob one of the best if you can pay for it...jus tmy .002 and Im sure some others will agree the MM stuff is worth the money..

*EDIT JUST SAW YOU ALREADY HAVE SUBFRAMES SORRY*

Honestly I've been down this road on several cars (and friends cars).

If you plan on keeping the car a long time, do it once and do it right.

To get a fox to handle well as a daily driver and or autocross car subframe connectors are an absolute must have.

Also, the stock shocks and struts are total crap. For my money, if you are going aftermarket Bilstein is the only way to go. Lifetime warranty and night and day difference even over other aftermarket brands. There is a reason they cost more, you get what you pay for with that product. I swear they last forever.

So you need:

Maximum motorsports full length subframe connectors (welded in). $150 or so with shipping + labor

Bilstein shocks and struts. $500 for the set

Springs (if you want) I vote Ford C or B Springs as they deliver only a minor drop and are good all around springs, good price too. $ around $140 or so I think.

IF you get springs, then you should get caster camber plates, otherwise they won't give you great bang for your buck on a daily driver.

Also www.stangsuspension.com gets my vote for vendor. 60 Day Money Back Guarantee and Price Matching - No Questions Asked and he answers emails quickly.
