SVO Heads VS 99+ PI HEADS

Can you guys explain to me a little about the difference between the heads. And would it be better to use SVO heads for a headswap??? Anything you know about SVO heads would be helpfull. thanks...

Well, it depends on what you want to do.

You will get a 1.0 compression bump using PI heads but stock SVO heads far outflow stock PI heads. You will be able to run more timing with a PI head swap as it is a fast burning head compared to the SVO. Either head, I would use the PI intake. Trade offs for a N/A application. The SVO head will need some work done to run higher lift cams if that is a option as well.

If you want the best flowing head and are willing to build a N/A motor around it, the SVO would the way to go. Just a basic headswap, probably the PI.

SuperCharger or Turbo, again it depends on how far you want to go. Right out of the box, I would use the PI head. The reason is the faster burn, however you would need to build a motor around this. All out race motor, well again I would use the SVO head.

Nitrous, never really searched into that.

if you used the PI heads for a headswap in a FI application you will have to change pistons cause your compression will be way to high to run a turbo or supercharger but Ideal for nitrous.

svo heads aren't cheap....they are better stock vs stock but for the cost of them you could get some stage 2 patriot heads @ 1600. Unless the svo has gone down in price, but i doubt it. I almost ordered the svo heads myself but decided on the full pi swap. And with the money i saved i'm going to pick up some cams.

Noticed you had a Mach I chin spoiler on your '98. Do you have a pic of it anywhere, I'd like to see how that looks!
