From SVTOA Western Region
Greetings!
SVTOA Western Region gets On Track with 3rd Annual 'Howlin' at Buttonwillow
You’ve read about it in Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords and in 5.0 Magazine and even in the SVTOA's own SVT Enthusiast. Now you, too, can be a part of this exciting, once-a-year, On Track performance driving clinic: The SVTOA Western Region takes over Buttonwillow Raceway in Buttonwillow, California, from November 3-5, 2006, for another weekend packed with SVTOA driving fun that you won't want to miss!
This year the 'Howlin' weekend starts off for experienced SVTOA drivers on Friday during an open Test-and-Tune day hosted by Buttonwillow Raceway. Driving clinic students and other members will arrive Friday evening to enjoy a Meet-'n'-Greet at the Willow Ranch BBQ Restaurant, where you are likely to hear high-octane stories from the day’s participants.
On Saturday and Sunday, drivers will be sure to gain new appreciation for their Ford SVT vehicles as they test their skills on the 3-mile Buttonwillow course. Designed with a combination of turns, straights, chicanes and elevation changes – all with plenty of run-off room, Buttonwillow offers the kind of variety that makes it a fantastic course for beginners as well as a challenge for the seasoned driver. Planned activities include lots of track time, vendor displays, raffles, and driving exercises for the beginners. An agility course competition will offer participants a chance to show off what they’ve learned about car control. Sunday, our event will be host to the Redline Focus Challenge. The challenge will take place mid-day and will not affect our participants driving time on the track. Driving clinic students can view firsthand this exciting time-trial event that has been sweeping the West Coast!
If you're thinking that participating in an event like this isn't for you because you've never learned to get On Track with your performance Ford, don't worry: We all had to start somewhere, and what better opportunity is there than learning with a professional instructor sitting next to you and driving with your fellow SVT owners? At SVTOA On Track events you learn at your own pace ... with plenty of seat time out on the track. All you need to do is register, and we'll guarantee that no matter what your driving ability was when you arrive on Saturday, it will be better when leave on Sunday – and that you'll have an absolute blast doing it!
An official event dinner served at the track on Saturday night will offer participants the perfect place and time to download their supercharged stories of the day as well as the opportunity to win raffle prizes from our sponsors.
