swapping motor.......electrical question??

Hello,

I will be in the process of putting a 2000GT motor into my 96GT and I was wondering if the wiring harness(wires) in my car right now can be used with the 2000 motor?? as the 2000 motor is not coming with the wiring

Yes, just use all your sensors and electronics. You'll also have to use your fuel rails and find a spot for the second temp sensor.

Thnx alot fellow canadian stanger!! Can u recommend a good spot to put the 2nd temp. sensor??

If your new engine has the aluminum crossover on the intake [as opposed to being all plastic] then there is a place on it that can be tapped. If your intake is all plastic, then take alook on the side of the block before you install the engine, there should be a plug that will screw out and you can just screw the sensor in there. If that option doesn't work out then you can always use the fabled T-fitting and put it in the single sensor location on the new engine and screw both sensors into it. Hope that makes sense, good luck with the swap.

If you do have that plastic crossover, you also should bring it down to Ford for a replacement.. I'd hate to have a nice new engine sitting in there, then crack the first time you get on it or something.

Not sure if they would replace it if it's not cracked. Also not sure if the cracked intake thing is for Canadian cars or just USA. Any thoughts?

pretty sure ford will replace the intake under recall for cars up to 7yrs old

That would be nice, although you may need a VIN number.
