what's the best way to get them out? Clay?

I've always used mothers wax. Tips and techniques are welcomed. It's a black car.

Wax protects from sun and a bit from dust scratching - but doesnt take it out, coveres it up (except on black, lol). Clay bar takes off the sediment and leaves a smoothe surface, but doesn't work with the clearcoat at all, just takes the grime and brake dust off the car. You need something like Poorboy's SSR 1 or 2, maybe post some pics up or pm me and I can recomend something. Rent or borrow a PC too - that helps a lot.

You will need to use a polish/compound to remove (not hide) swirl marks. Start by claying it, then if you have access to a buffer, use it with a polish to get remove swirl marks. Different kinds of wax won't make much of a difference if the paint it's put onto has imperfections. Head over to Autopia - Autopia Home and just read some posts, it's really helpful.

The Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover Kit is the total solution to swirled, hazy paint. If you like the slick, glossy look of Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint

absolutely awesome kit, SrtHandz recommended it a while back and it's so awesome, i've done 3 cars with it and still have 3/4 the bottles full left

a claybar and wax will not remove swirl marks, the wax may have fillers to hide the swirls but it will reappear.

You want to do this properly and thats using a polish/compound depending on severity of the swirls and a random orbital machine with appropriate pads.

Glaze will do the most as far as "hiding" swirls, if the car is actually driven consider a sealant over a wax, Carnauba Car Wax vs. Paint Sealants, carnauba wax reviews, paint sealant reviews

well you can always layer wax over a sealant as long as the wax isn't abrasive or have cleaners in it, but have to wait at least 12 hours after applying sealant to put on wax.
