Switching to EFI- computer question

Hey guys-

I am in the process of putting together an efi 5.0 out of a 90s model. I have an A9L computer for it and it came out of a manual... I will be running an AOD. Is there any problem with using the A9L (manual) on an AOD? Are they even transmission specific computers? I'm guessing (hoping) not, but I need some verification.

A9L computers are for manual trans only. You need the A9P for the AOD. Good news though, it seems like everyone is looking for the A9L computers so you should not have that tough a time finding one for the AOD. The other issue is that the wiring harness is fairly system specific. So getting an AOD harness is also needed. Sorry for the bad news on that part.

So the A9P works for both and A9L only manual? Also, do you know if fordfuelinjection has a harness for the AOD then? I guess I could ask them, but I thought maybe somebody knows off the top of their head...

If you don't have an AOD with electronic shift control(pre-'94), then the A9L you have will still work.

ok- yeah, it's not the AODE I will be going with, it's the plain 'ol AOD. thx
