tl75keith & apk1971, which part number for the silver star foglight bulbs? Any problems with the lighting system as mentioned by UVBNHAD? I called Sylvania and the rep said they didn't have one...?

I used 880 for the fogs and 3157 for the turn signals. The turns are an iridescent blue when off but yellow when on...pretty cool.

I used 893's for my fog lights.

I put Silverstars in my head and fog lights along with clear fog light housings and it made a huge difference.

Question, so the silverstar turn signal bulbs make that much of a difference?

No, but I have clear headlights and didn't want a nasty yellow bulb showing through. It's purely for looks.

Don't waste your money!!

I have had a couple pairs of these and they have been going out every 3-4 months, I wouldn't buy these ever again. If you are going to buy some good headlights spend a little extra money and buy some of the PIAA Sparks, you can get them on ebay for about $60-80 and they are worth every penny!!

I've had my silverstars since may or so. I even touched one of the bulbs on accident. I have yet to have any problems with them. I had my beams aimed up a little bit and drivers kept flashing me so I aimed them down again. Other than being white I noticed no difference in actual illumination. I prefer my Cougar's projection headlights. They flood an area, the Mustang and Taurus headlights simply point at an area.

Touching a bulb is ok as long as you clean it off afterwards. If there's any grease/residue from your fingers, just clean it off carefully and they'll be fine.

The SilverStars are an improvement but do not make up for the real bad design in the Ford Reflectors and headlight Lens design. The light is whiter but no better focused or distributed over the road surface.
In addition to my Mustang, we have 2 other cars at the house that have much improved headlights over the Mustang (new Mazda 3 great all around car and a Subaru for the winters).

Exactly!!! The lights are too far recessed and the hood and bumper cut off a lot of the vertical lighting. BUT, IMO the silverstars are a step in the right direction.

You can see the way the silverstar turn signals look in my pic... You can also see the difference between factory fogs and the clear fogs you can get off ebay. Those made a HUGE difference. I also have the 880 silverstar fogs and they are very bright. With the clear housings they are still probably 50% brighter than stock fogs with the stock housing.

Are those turned on? or just the reflection from the camera? They glow amber correct? Just look blue when off??

Here's my car with silverstar 893 fogs. (headlights too). I have the stock housings in this pic. The pic doesn't do them justice. WHen i drive down dark streets at night, everything lights up pure white. The clear housings make them look evern better!

I sure do love those foglight shots!
After reading this thread i think im going to possibly buy some myself. The only thing that was keeping me from buying these was i didn't know if they made it for fogs too...now that i know they doooo...

Right... they're blue when any type of light hits them, but are a very brilliant orange when lit. Some people say its rice... I actually kind of like it. I've had lots of compliments on them... a lot from other stang owners. Brings something different to the car since it would otherwise be entirely silver/black except for the rear lights. When I turn the signals on I see the orange bouncing off other people's cars very well in the day time. They're probably 25-50% brighter than stock...
