Symtoms of a cracked Block/Head???

if i were to have a cracked block or head, what kind of things would i be experiencing??
im about to throw this motor out and buy a crate motor....

All kinds of problems

Overheating, detonation and such I would imagine.

here are my symptoms....

over heating, loosing coolant, white smoke, blowing head gaskets within 10 min of installing new ones... predetonation (im guessing), no oil pressure, and not full power

If you have the means, a crate motor will surely slove your problem with the least hassle. Call Monday and you be installing it next weekend.

Block or heads? Tear the block and heads down and have them magafuxed. If good, hone the bores, deck the tops, wash the block, replace the cam bearings and freeze plugs. new pistons, rings, bearings and gaskets.

what does it cost to have an engine rebuilt, manafluxed and milled heads and block?
the crate motor i was thinking about was $3300

You definitely have a cracked block. Sorry bud. But if you are losing coolant, you have no oil pressure and you're overheating, even if you didn't have a cracked block right now, go start it and run it for about 15 min and you will. Go get a crate motor.

I would still say take it apart and see right where the problem is, but in the end. I still see yourself going for a new motor.

You need to find the prob before u run of dropping cash on a crate motor...could be something simple.
I knew a guy that tightened his arp head studs in way tight (suppose to be hand tight) and on the lower row where the go down into the coolant passages he cracked the block.

You have no clue what it is right now, I'd calm down...dig into it...and find that gremlin.

Just in case you go the crate engine route, check out these engines,

The timing cover and water pump is our type. Put on your old oil pan, your brackets, intake and a pilot bearing and drop it in.

Break up your old engine and sell off the good parts on ebay.

when i get it apart, what am i looking for and how do i find it?

Just look for anything out of the ordinary, cracks in the cylinder, cracks around the middle of the block on the outside, where oil and coolant galleys are, hole. Maybe do a leak down test and see if you hear anything.

well it was taken apart and i measured soooo many things, bolt lengths, head and block surfaces....anything imaginable.... the heads are away being checked right now, for flatness and for cracks (magnaflux) so i dont know
im clueless

could not putting sealant on the BOTTOM bolts make my HG blow at the TOP of the cylinder?
