i just got an 03 stang and it's got 7,500 miles on it. i don't know what kind of oil they were using in it but would it be alright if i started using synthetic now? i just kept my 66 on regular oil so i've never had any experience with synthetic. thanks for any help.
Won't hurt it. I started mine at 14k (5k after what it was on it when I bought it) My old stang, an 01, I started on synthetic at 5k. Never had any problems with either car. In fact, I drove my new one for about 5000 miles before I changed it (the dealership changed it so i figured id save some money and use it up before it needed it) I got better mileage, and my engine just seems to run somewhat "smoother".
you can use it any time you feel the need i run mobile 1 fully synth in my car but they dont make the 5w 20 your car needs so i run 5w 30 the different weights are for emmisions, but i have noticed no loss in gas milage.
