That is just a matter of opinion. I personally love the T-5. Especially over the Tremec T-45 they use in the modulars. Never had a problem with the abuse I put threw mine like the T-45 I am rebuilding of a friends of mine (Shattered the shift fork 3-4). I mean really cast aluminum forks in a tranny with no stops. But w/e.

And no the 4.6 bell bolt patern is not the same as the 5.0.

well i use to have an 03 gt but it was totalled =(
and i replaced 4 3650,s in that thing
so i know them are junk and i rebuilt one the one that was in it when the car was totalled just everything i have read on the t-5.s even from ford said ford in the manual mustangs in the 90,s they replaced over a million t-5,s because they are weak. just figured the t45 was a bit stronger

hehe yea they both have their ups and downs. All in all you have to remember when you are putting serious power to the ground, not many transmissions can hold up to it reliably. Overall I like the T-5 more, but thats just me. Like I said before, its a matter of opinion. lol

can can easily build them to be much stronger but for nearly the same price or not much more you can get a tremec set up.
