Ok Iused the search function but couldn't find what I was looking for. The water pump on my 92 LX took a dump, I replaced it, and instsalled a new T-stat as well. I used a 195 and now when I start the car at idle the guage sits dead even in the middle, drive it and it goes to the three quarter mark and it stays there. My car is 100% stock down to the airsilencer. Will a simple 180 thermostat fix it, or do I have no concerns since it isn;t overheating? After doing some reading I guess I'll install a aftermarker water temp guage since it seems like they aren't to reliable, or accurate. Yes flow is good and there is no blockage.

Agreed and agreed (to get a real gauge and ensure the air is out).

How do you know it was all purged?

Does the car run hotter while at speed or while idling?

Is the belt on right? If it's spinning backwards it won't work real good. Is it the right water pump? They make ones for counter clockwise and clockwise.
