Just wondering if anyone has information on t-top doors. I have an 87 t-top and it needs doors. i know that convertible doors won't work cuz they have pedestal mount mirrors. my question is would hardtop doors work with the window channels cut off to match my original doors. they do have the same mirrors. And if anything was different as far as the guts of the door i could swap they over. Anyone with some ideas or info please help. thanks

You have a few choices (as I see it)

1) Seach the internet for new door skins and have the doors rebuilt, asuming that your door frame and supporting hardware are not rusted also

2) You can take convertible doors and move all your T-top hardware to the dooner doors.

3) You can start searching the junk yards in your area or even call some specialty shops and ask if they have any good doors for your T-top.

The only thing about using convertible doors is that somehow i'd have to fill the space where the mirror was because the converts have the thicker a-pillar and take up the space where the triangle mirrors would be.

I think that the door frame is too gone. there isn't much left inside the door on the bottom. if i had to do that i know it'd cost a small fortune, but i wouldn't have a choice.

it's just so hard to find parts for these cuz of how rare they were in 87 and 88.

Would any t-top door from 79-up work??

You can use vert doors, but have to have 87 or early 88's and swap all the internal over. I did it on my 86 with 87 vert doors. Check out the link in my sig and on the last page I did do a small write up on it..

hey thanks man on that. your webpage def helped out. i guess that the 87 early 88 verts had triangle mirrors and not door mounted ones. that should make it a bit easier to find doors for this car.
