i am doing a 5.0 swap into my 92 with a 5 speed 4 cyl, and i was wondering if the t5 bellhousing from the 4 will work with the 5.0, i plan on using the trans to get it going until i can upgrade, and someone told me the bellhousing would work but i need to know for sure
The 5.0L bolt pattern and the 4-cyl are completely different.
Not to mention that the starters are different also, the 4-cyl starter has 3 mounting bolts and the 5.0L has two.
Sorry dude, you need a bellhousing.
If you plan on using that trans. you will also need a special pilot bearing to adapt it to the 5.0L crank.
thanks thats the answer i was looking for, i havent got the 4 or the trans out yet, so i havent looked at it, i have been trying to gather everything that i need before i swap the engines
I have a bell housing for you, if you want it. Been laying aroung my garage forever, since i swapped in the T56. Yuou can have it cheap, if interested.
