I think my AODE is on it's way out (really hard 1st downshift) So if my repair estimate is over around $700 I think I'm gonna go for the swap.

Does anyone actually sell a kit? Or is it possible to always piece one together for around $1300, or just if you get lucky?

Thanks guys

piece it together and get the parts you want so you can do it right the 1st time around

94/95 T5, bellhousing & clutch fork
clutch kit of choice
flywheel (oem replacement can be had for cheap)
pilot bearing
5 speed ECU
(its also a good idea to get ARP flywheel bolts and a set of pressure plate to flywheel bolts. youll also want some thread sealer on the flywheel bolts)

the D/S and trans crossmember from the AODE will work just fine. you can also use the wiring harness from the AODE with the T5 and just leave the unused connections tucked away or snip em

94/95 t5 I know a guy that will get you one for 600$ shipped fresh rebuilt
94 bellhousing like 50$ on ebay
94 computer, harder to find but when you do its like 50$
clutch like 160$ for a king cobra search astroperformance on ebay
flywheel like 100$ for a brand new one, can find cheaper on ebay if you wait and look around
pedals 50$
tranny harness 25$ish
shifter, get a short shifter might as well you can find used for like 110$

I am in process of piecing together mine, all I need is flywheel and T5
I am waiting on a cheaper T5 while I wait for my AODE to finally die, if
I can't find a cheaper one im just getting one built for 600$
also gonna prolly get a fidanza aluminum flywheel which is 300$ shipped on ebay

You guys like to undercut the prices for these parts a ton IMO. Bellhousing for 50? Pedals for 50? Ive never seen it. You've gotta get damn lucky.

I priced together parts on ebay the other day and I got up to 1000 without even finding a transmission.

You need to broaden your search, ebay isin't the only resource out there...

I wouldn't pay more than $50 for the oem pedals, any more and you could just fabricate one from scratch.

I put my own together and it cost way more then the prices that you guy's posted. If you can find the tranny harness for $25 post it up here I gotta see it.Your prolly lookin somewhere between $1500 to $2000 for a complete kit with used parts.Clutch & brake pedals come together as one unit.

^exactly. Salvage yards even want a fortune for parts, not just ebay. If you know a guy that knows a guy that has a friend, thats different.

What about the shifter bezel? Do you have to buy one from a 5 speed to?

Ive heard that you can re-use the auto bezel, but don't quote me. You just have to add a boot.

A manual bezel with a boot costs like 200 bucks for 50resto.com. Deff. something to re-use if you can.

well, it cost me around $1500 if my memory serves me correctly. i am in the process of yanking everything to do a tko500 swap, so if you are interested, i will be selling my t5, tri-ax, bellhousing, and clutch fork very soon. i also think i still have a resurfaced steel flywheel laying around too. if you are interested, make me an offer on the stuff. also, you can do a search for my username and the keyword "swap" in this forum and you will find all of the posts i have previously made on the aode-t5 swap along with one thread that i posted a complete parts list in.
