I'm looking for threads with t5 info. I'm swaping from a c4 to a t5 in my 65 coupe. I am looking for a donor car with a 5.0 and the tranny together so i can have everything there. I am wondering what years i should be looking for? I read some where to find an 87 to a 93, is this correct? Any other ideas? When i search for the thread "t5 in a 65-66" it says that the words t5, in, and a, are excluded for being to short leaving me with tons of other threads to sort through. Any pointers on how and where to find this info would be awsome! Thanks! As you can probably tell I am new to this forum and with mustangs.

Best T5's are out of the 90-93 5.0's, but any 87-93 T5 will work so long as it came from behind a V8.

It is a 289. I guess i'm not set on a 5.0 yet but i'm heading in that direction. Any cons? I'm just thinking about the better gas mileage and overall a smoother running car.

Thanks everyone for your help!(remember i'm a newb and not to computer savey!) Thanks!

heres more food for thought... after a certain year (88 i think, someone will correct me if im wrong!) ford used a computer module that could be used pretty much stand alone... that is you, can run it without the hassle of running the majority of the sensors (o2, speed sensor, couple more that i cant recall...)
