I'd guess the second hook, I haven't played with the steeda quadrant too much. If you put it on the first hook and you have to screw the firewall adjuster out so much, you don't have any adjustment room left, put it on the second hook. which hook it is on doesn't matter so much, just as long as you can adjust it within specs.

of course, on the other hand, if the second hook is so tight, you've got to pry the damn thing on, you don't want your clutch permanently disengaging. Put it on whatever hook that allows you to adjust the clutch properly.

Sure, start off with the first hook. You'll know instantly if it won't work, you wont be able to tighten your adjustement without running out of room, it's only gonna work on one hook.

If you have the upr quadrant, there is a good chance you won't be able to adjust it to grab an inch from the floor, and only have an inch of slack up top. More than likely if you adjust it to grab lower, then you'll have a lot of slack up top. It's the upr quadrant. If your's is NOT like that, let me know, I'll buy a new cable (remember mine has 200k on it) (just remembered, you have the steeda, let me know how it turns out)

anyhow, excessive slack up top is ok, so long as it disengages all the way. You'll know if it disengages all the way if you have to let up a little before it grabs. If unsure, jack the car up, jackstand it, and tighten till the rear wheels stop spinning with the car in first gear, foot ON the clutch.

My brother just approached me the other day and said, you know, I think I want the tremec in my notch, and my 86 ttop to have the stock setup, so lets swap the two trannies.

**** **** ****, **** piss. that's two more damn tranny swaps I've gotta do now (the notch will be go, his ttop will be show, and unfortunetly, he put all the go fast parts on the ttop before he bought the notch he has now ) we JUST finished the aod to t5 swap in that 6 months ago, and now he wants to rip it all apart and trade trannies with his other car.. So be it.
