Is this common? I reused the clip that the c4 used to hold the speedometer gear in place, it works fine (or seemed to but looks like theres a steady drip of transmission fluid coming out of it). Any ideas? Just bolt it in tighter (its snug right now, didn't want to risk stripping it or anything)? Should there be any o-rings or sealant there?

Thanks

x2 There should be an O-ring in there, and it probably needs replacing.

It's pretty easy to strip the threads that hold that clip in (ask me how I know), and it will do absolutely nothing to slow the leak. iskwezm and bottlefed are right - replace the o-ring; tighten the bolt carefully.

You can buy o-rings at any decent hardware store.

I'd use standard wheel bearing/chassis grease.
