Does anybody have a T5 WC apart and could take a couple pictures for me or perhaps answer a question from memory? This is my first T5 rebuild so I'm not sure about a couple items... if you pull up the T5 service manual page 3-7 the area in question is from item 66A through 69. When I took mine apart, the loose bearings all fell out and there was no retainer like seems to be pictured in the diagram. Then there was what I assume is the spacer, which was all torn up. There was no thrust bearing or race, and I can find no trace of them ever having been in there. I have a master overhaul kit which has a thrust bearing and race (looks like a washer). There is no spacer in the kit though unless it uses a different type than what was in there, the damaged spacer that I pulled out had a slight flange to seat into the input shaft. This stuff is always hard to describe without looking at it, so I'm going to go take a picture or two of what I'm talking about and post it up in a few minutes.

Oh, this did damage a few of the hard parts like the input shaft and a couple other things so if anybody has some spare parts laying around, let me know. The closer to Tampa you are the better.

Thanks in advance,
Brian

Here are the pics and the T5 manual in case somebody doesn't have it.

So the way it was when I took it apart was: the 15 loose bearings which go into the end of the input shaft where the output shaft slides into, then that beat up spacer/sleeve type thing which seats between the input shaft and what looks like the 3-4 synchro assy. I have the tranny completely dis-assembled other than taking apart the gear/synchro sets on the output shaft and I have found no trace of the missing parts. I'm wondering if whoever rebuild this unit somehow forgot to put in the thrust bearing??? I haven't driven this car much since I got it, it's been to the track a few times and I just put a tag on it recently. The tranny started out working ok then began to grind into 3rd and 4th gear. It finally locked itself into 3rd gear while I was doing a WOT pass so I decided to rebuild it.

Oh, if you look at the 3rd pic there is some mangled/broken piece shown with my finger on it, I'm not sure what that is supposed to be from the diagrams, any ideas?
