I'm having a major problem with my tach and speedo. The speedo, when the car is under load, will freeze at random speeds and jump around. It'll go from 70mph down to 30 then up to 100.
Tach will just freeze and then jump up to where it's supposed to be at. Very scary.
Trying to get the car tuned and we can't tune it like this. Tuner has no idea and can't figure it out.
The problems show up in both the gauge cluster and on the data log. Swapped computers and the problem persists. Also checked the signal from the sensor and it's good. Can't find any apparent problems in the wiring. Volts are reading fine. Swapping the cluster also had no effect.
I'm lost on what could be causing this and need some ideas. Car has been down for over a month for what should have been a quick and simple tune.
