I've got a 98 gt and I purchased an autometer 5" tach (Sport-Comp Silver) and I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on this installation. I searched around and found someone saying that if I splice into the orange wire with with the white tracer line on the passenger side computer then I would be fine. Can anyone elaborate on this? Pictures would be even better if anyone has any. Any help would be great. My buddy and I wanna get this outta the way today.

i have a 97 and it can take several minutes to locate the orange wire. on mine i simply removed the gauge cluster and located the tan and white wire, and spliced it there. the reason is theres only one tan wire in the back of the cluster, its in the harness on the right. took me les then ten minutes removal and reinstallation with the wire spliced. and it seemed a lot easier then sorting through 80 somethin wires...
