I have a 68 and converted to and EFI system. I am using a tach guage from retro gauge (2" that fits in the bezel). I am having problems with the guage working. i know it is getting power but it is not showing a signal. Retro Guage has been helpful by telling me the signal is probably different. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this interface problem? I am running a harness from fordfuelinjection.com which is based on the Ford harness, just eliminating all the excess wiring. Thanks.

You'll need to tell us which ford EFI system you are running.

Where are you getting your tach signal from? If it's the TFI ignition you should have a wire connected to the - terminal of your ignition coil.

I am running a Ford EFI. I have a lead that comes from the harness that is specific for a tach signal. The engine is from a 1990 GT. I have an MSD coil that has the connector for the computer harness so there is not the traditional +/- terminals but there is a green and a red wire that go into the plug. I assume the red must be the +. The harness is from Fordfuelinjection.com. Has anybody used this harness before and if so how did you solve the problem?

umm from my own installation I used the red for the + lead from the battery, the black as a ground, and the green to the - terminal from the ignition coil
